2021.11.27 19:48 ahumminahummina Lexapro Insomnia drastically reduced after switching manufacturers

One of the worst parts of ssri treatment imo is the gnarly insomnia. I would often go to bed but would feel so wired and unable to close my eyes. But interestingly, I switched from Aurobindo to Cipla, I am able to get to sleep after about 30-60 minutes at most. Also, if I am unable to sleep, I am at least still relaxed and comfortable and don’t feel so tortured. Seems to be another case of generic prescriptions having drastically different effects (despite ignorant doctors telling us otherwise). Hope this helps.

2021.11.27 19:48 OuterMelonLayer [US-NJ] Noise problems from 3 consecutive neighbors; do we have any recourse or alternatives?

Hi all! My wife and I live in a newer so-called “luxury” apt building near NYC (in NJ). We have lived here for almost 3 years and we're very happy with everything, except from noise problems from neighbors.
For almost 2 years we have had excessively loud music from our next door neighbors, whose living room shares a common wall with our bedroom. There have been three tenants that have lived in that unit in that time, and all 3 have been problematic. We recently discovered that all the tenants knew/referred each other. More on why this matters below.
The first neighbors had a habit of playing very loud music all day and into the late evening. Eventually we reached out to the building management asking what the best course of action was, who told us not to interact with the neighbors directly and that they would address it to keep things anonymous and civil. The building has quiet hours that need to be abided to. However management mishandled the complaint and we learned later on that they inadvertently identified us as the complainers. Although we never spoke with these people, the music issue persisted, despite additional pleas to management.
After less than a year, these people left and neighbor #2 moves in. From the first day, neighbor #2 played music even louder, bassier and later into the night then we had previously dealt with. After a couple weeks, we went to management and asked what to do once again, knowing that they had screwed things up the first time. They apologized and assured us the best thing to do, as they said previously, was to let them and/or the 24 hour concierge deal with it.
At 2 AM one night when we were being kept awake by loud music, we contacted the concierge as directed to ask the new guy to turn the music down or off. When confronted by the concierge at the door, this neighbor lost his shit, started banging on our walls and shouted at the top of his lungs that he was being harassed by his "racist neighbors" and that he was not ever playing music at all, which of course was 100% false.Just for context, we hadn’t ever seen this guy and we were pretty sure he had ever seen us, so we were extremely confused and a little terrified that he correctly guessed that we were the ones who called about the music and even furthermore, saying that the complaint was due to racism.
Several months months after this incident, the music problem had subsided somewhat but the guy moved out and started subletting his apartment to someone new. This is not allowed per the lease, but whatever. Not our business. We just hoped this 3rd person would be quiet.
This third neighbor has turned out the be the biggest nightmare of them all and has played loud music through the night, for 12-15 hours at a time through to the next morning (like 11pm to 10am the next day).Understanding the relationship of the current neighbor to the previous one, we were actually afraid to lodge further noise complaints. But after one grueling night of impossibly loud music and my wife shaking in bed with a panic attack, we told management everything that had been happening. They told us they had received over 20 other noise complaints about this person and were working hard to deal with it. We felt truly validated for the first time. Later they said the person promised the all nighters of music would not continue. However, it has happened again since over the last 2 weeks.
My wife and I have become very anxious and jumpy with any indication of sound or noise. We have developed a habit of needing to wear noise cancellation headphones almost 24/7. Just this past week we had to actually leave at 1am and go stay at a hotel due to the music. We have inquired about breaking our lease and leaving, but we got 3 months of rent concessions on our lease renewal thanks to covid. So in order to leave we would have to pay that back plus other fees, totaling over $10K+. Our monthly rent is about $2800.
The second option is to just stick it out and suffer until the end of the lease (August 2022) - but that is no way to live. We seem to have developed psychological problems from this. We aren’t enjoying our home.
The third solution would be to move to another unit in the same building. Management has said we would not have to re-pay any rent concessions in this scenario, but availability is sparse and all the other apartments that are available in our price range would be downgrades from what we have now by quite a lot. In order to go through the hassle and expense of moving to a different unit, changing addresses, signing a new lease, etc… we don't want to move to something lesser than what we currently have.
It seems like we have three really crappy options on the table here. Is there something we haven't considered? Does anyone have similar experiences, or any advice regarding how we can get management to help accommodate us a little bit? We know the law is very much on the side of the neighbor making the noise and also on the side of the management in regards to what we signed on our lease, so we feel stuck.
TL;DR - Over the course of 2 years and 3 tenants next to us, we have had constant noise issues with our neighbors. Building management acknowledges that the issue is excessive but hasn’t given us any options that don’t feel like we’re the ones who have to bear the brunt of the consequences.
Thanks all. Would really appreciate any and all input.

So for context: I have a 16 week old vaccinated male kitten, not neutered yet. He has this weird thing (I don’t know what to call it) around his private parts.
Does anyone know what this is before I call my vet?
